The Aquaria KLCC is a world class oceanarium located on the concourse level of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It was officially opened for visitors in August 2005. It is owned and managed by Aquawalk Sdn. Bhd.

It is said to be one of the largest aquariums in Southeast Asia. It features a sprawling  60,000 square feet space in two levels with a 90-metre underwater transparent tunnel equipped with a moving travelator that allows the visitor to have a full view of the creatures in their element. The tunnel is Malaysia's first underground aquarium exhibit.

It hosts over 250 different species and over 5,000 exhibits of both aquatic and semi-aquatic animals from Malaysia and around the world. The highlights include giant pacific octopi, sand tiger sharks, sea snakes, blue rays, coral fish, seahorses, green sea turtles, and many more. The visitors can see over 5,000 freshwater and marine creatures such as including massive arapaimas, giant groupers and gar fish as well as aquatic mammals such as water rats and coatimundis.

Hear From Others

The Underwater Tunnel is one of Aquaria’s main highlights. Visitors get to stand on a 90m slow moving walkway to see the fish including large rays and sharks. This is the most enjoyable part for me. I couldn’t recall how many times I went in the tunnel lol. The feeling of sharks, rays and other fish swimming past and above you is so surreal. And if you are in the tunnel at the right time, you might even get to see the divers feeding the sharks!

Overall, Aquaria KLCC impressed me. It was a pleasant half-day tour with my dearest. In addition, Aquaria KLCC is also a great place for you to spend your family day; especially if you have kids.

It really is quite exceptionally maintained with wall to wall tanks, and ceiling to floor glass displays that are really impressive and make you feel like you are right in with the fish as they swim around.
